Construction week

I apologize for not updating the blog as of late. We have been so busy with end of the school year photos. As I mentioned before, we were hit with everything at once and Ken, Kat & Jeanne worked double time. And now... its construction week at Spectrum!

We are remodeling the design rooms and the front area. Customers will now be entering the EAST doors while the work room will become the west part of the building.

All design stations will move up front to create one solid workflow. And I am excited about that. Its long overdue. But Im more excited about the new toys we are getting :). A new printer, two new workstations, Aperature, etc...

So be patient with us while we get our move on. The studio will be open today, but closed to customers on Thursday and Friday. If I do not respond to an email right away be patient please. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Dance.... almost done

We are almost finished photographing all dance groups. We will be sending out a blast email to access the photos soon. If you have not received an email from us by May 10 please email nate at spectrumphoto dot com and I will get you taken care of.

This is what we have been doing the past week. It is one of the busiest times for the studio. We are also planning a remodel which I spoke about earlier. The entire design room will be moved up front, new walls will be put into place, its going to be huge! You know the door you usually come in? Well after May 10 you will be using another door :).

I know I havent updated the blog often lately. Be patient as we have tons of new things for upcoming seniors as well as a TON of awesome wedding photos coming! In the meantime, check out this awesomely, bad to the bone group of guys. Not only did I photograph this, I had to run like the wind to get back into the photo:

Do you recognize anyone?

Engagement at Cozads

I was pretty excited to photograph this couple. It was my first time meeting the future groom and once we started shooting I knew its going to be awesome. I try not only to capture portraits, but I also want to capture couples interacting. Once I began my whole "don't mind me, act like I am not here" story they really kicked butt.

We started at Cozad's garage (again, clicking on a photo will enlarge it). I had a few things in mind:

I ran across the street to get a few of them with the front of the building. Tons of traffic last night and everyone pretty much wanted to see what was going on. This truck passed in front of us and I snapped it at the perfect time.

Then we headed to a local park for a few more portraits. I like this one the best:

So natural. Check back in July for their wedding photos!

I have another engagement shoot on the books tonight, then its dance photos Saturday. Speaking of dance photos, we should have them online for view next week. I big blast email will go out. More on that later.

It was a fun weekend

Okay, last Saturday I (Nate) headed to Alliance for the beginning of wedding season. Like I mentioned before, Aaron joined me as a second shooter, which by the way he did an A-okay job!

I know the groom and his entourage, but this was my first meeting with the bride's girls! Let me tell you I was not let down. Everyone was great and the family was amazing. The flowers were beautiful, the dress was amazing, and the red shoes were perfect! The only thing that kept us down a bit was it was cold outside. Everyone were troopers though. Onto the photos (clicking will enlarge).

Check out the rings:

And the bride and groom. You could tell they were a perfect match:

The whole wedding party rocking it. The brides sister thought it would be fun to try and get someone hurt. I could not imagine trying to run in high heels:

Aaron captured this shot during the ceremony:

Leaving for the party in style:

Announced as husband and wife and their first dance:

Dan from Complete Music dj'ed the event. He was on fire as usual.

I have plenty more to post, but I will save the innocent as the partay was awesome!

Ok, its off to work on the design and...do some more stuff :)

Morning overload

Jeanne, our office manager, came back today. She was visiting her daughter in Arizona. Also, Kat is out of the office all week long this week. I came into the office and really hit it hard this morning. Everything came at once today and we are a bit overloaded. I wanted to share some photos of last Saturdays wedding, but it will have to wait a few days. That just means you have to come back!

Im finished editing and going through the back up process. Now Im working on getting the design and proofs to our online proofing section.

Speaking of our proofing section, I will also be updating the Gering High School section tomorrow. We will be adding Honor Society and some musical photos we captured. If you wish to order any of these, visit here.

For now, I leave you with this awesome shot I snapped of the bride from last Saturday :)(go ahead, click on the photo...)

Nate, out...

A little shout out

Here is Aaron:

He got some new equipment and came into for a few promo shots. You should visit his website.

You know when you are watching movies and you see how the camera is running with the person, or it is moving around with tons of action going on. AND there is no camera movement (like... shaking, unsteady, etc...)? Well, it is all because of a contraption that is attached to the cameraman's hips. There is tons of springs and counter weights along this boom arm and the springs retain all of the movement the cameraman is making. Its pretty cool!

Anyways, Aaron is finally outfitted with it. Its quite a piece of equipment:

I am taking Aaron with me to tomorrows wedding. We will be heading to Alliance to photograph and really cool couple. About 56 degrees tomorrow with cloud cover. I think we will still go outside :). Check back after this weekend for some cool shots.

Last Saturdays Engagement

I would of posted these earlier, but I had to take a trip to Eastern Nebraska. Sunday I left for Snyder Nebraska - about a 8 hour drive - to pick up a truck. More about that later...

Im super excited to photograph this couples wedding in July. They drove down from Spalding Nebraska last weekend to spend some time with family and of course to get their photos taken! Again, clicking on a photo will enlarge it.

We spent a while around the FARM (F.arm A.nd R.anch M.useum) shooting:

And they told me having windmills in the photos is a plus:

The future bride:

You could see how much these two cared for each other. Its always exciting to photograph couples when they share the love:

The wedding is going to be awesome!
