Good questions

We had a bride come into the studio the other day asking about our wedding photography. She had several great questions and I thought yea... we need to share some of these questions. I think we will post a new answer every week. And if you have any questions we have touched on, email me at nate at spectrumphoto dot com.

Q: How does your studio manage retouching?

A: Spectrum believes the best quality equals the best price. We cut no corners when it comes to our finished products. This is why we do not sell unfinished prints. We want all of our clients to look their best.

All images that are ordered go through our retouching process. Blemishes, stray hairs, wrinkles, hot spots, etc... are zapped or toned down to make everyone the best they can be! We also go further. If something in the image is annoying or taking away from the subject, we will also remove that. Again, all finished images are retouched! And best of all, there are no hidden charges for this. Simple....print price equals finished product.

Example of our simple retouching techniques. Click to enlarge:

Left image is not retouched, color corrected, nor cropped. Right image is the the same image after it has gone through our retouching process.

Oregon Trail Days

My apologizes for not updating this weekend. OT Days were here and it was a blast. Every OT Days the studio closes for a bit of R&R and some great summer fun. Thursday kicked it off with a BBQ downtown. On Friday the Art Show opened up, as well as the Food Fair & Car Show. Saturday is always set for concerts and the big Parade, as well as several class reunions.

Photos to come tomorrow. This week will be a busy week and we should have more info on our Senior Books. We are also going through several hundred album pages and will be creating several Sample Albums for future brides to look at. More info coming tomorrow.

Having too much fun

Click this photo!

Ken photographed wedding portraits in the studio this past weekend. It was a mixture of Bride & Groom shots with their family. Kat happen to run across this photo during processing!

This is the coolest photo! The kids were having too much fun and Ken played on the goofy face looks to get some great real portraits!

Oregon Trail Days fast approaching

The city of Gering will swell by the thousands for Oregon Trail Days. Touted as Nebraska's oldest celebration, its full of food, fun, and music.

Above photo was during the Kiddie Parade. Smokey Bear took time out of his busy schedule to visit the kids during the parade last year :)

Tonight the Longhorns will be hearded down Main Street. OT Days officially kicks off Thursday with a BBQ downtown. The Drivin' Dynamics will be playing and its going to be so much fun!

Local businesses have a schedule of events so do not hesitate to pick one up. We finally get a break in wedding season. Both Ken and Nate have class reunions to attend, as well as finish off some chili, watch parades, and catch up with so many people.

The studio will be closed early Friday. If there is something needed you can reach us via email.

July 7th, 2007

July 7th was our most asked for wedding date. We had to turn away so many couples because we were already booked.

Ken photographed two families, while Nate went to the Midwest Theatre for an amazing wedding.

The Midwest Theatre is a great place for a people that are looking for something different. I would definately recommend this place to anyone. Check it out.

Here are some great shots from the wedding. Click the photo for an enlargement.

Details. The groom and his best man wore tradition Scottish garments. Pretty sweet:

Bride and Groom. He just had to the the Napoleon pose!:

Finally, I love the brides father in this photo. He sang to her the entire time they danced. It was such a great dance!

We should have the rest of the photos ready by Wednesday. Check back for the possible virtual album!

Back to School Display

The Monument Mall is hosting several Back to School events throughout the summer. They have asked local photographers to supply displays for the entire summer. We were honored.

There will be several of our 2007 seniors spotlighted during this event! Be sure to check out the display There will be several new items Spectrum will be releasing this year as well as great ideas for seniors this year. Plus this gives everyone a chance to look at the new trends in fashion. I believe they will also be handing out several prizes during certain events!

Two Volume Album

WOW! LC (our album company) does an amazing job. I am blown away at each album that comes back.

So I come back from a quick lunch and find the two volume set sitting at the table. It wasn't suppose to be back for another two weeks or so. Talk about fast!

Here are some quick shots I took of this masterpiece:

Our clients are totally pumped! All of our wedding packages include an album similar to this. These are top notch books and custom designed for each client. So every book is a one of a kind!

Studio note: The studio will be closed for the 4th of July. Ken, Jeanne, Kat and Nate will be spending some much needed relaxation time with their families! We will return on the 5th. Everyone have a safe and great 4th of July.
