Weekend update

Hi everyone! Sorry we haven't updated this past week; things are really wild! Along with Ken, Jeanne and Kat working on Seniors and all other family - wedding - children orders, I was out of the office yesterday and will be until Monday.

My best friend is getting married this weekend and Ken is photographing (of course, I am in the wedding). We had a blast in Colorado yesterday and plan on doing a little golf and a few other wedding things today and tomorrow. We should have some fabulous photos to show on Tuesday!

We will do our Seniors of the Week next Tuesday. Sorry for the delay as I am in the office for a little bit today. Ken has several sittings tomorrow, so the office will be somewhat closed.

Wish Matt luck! If its urgent email us and someone will get back to you shortly.

Flashback

We have a client that is wanting some things different with his wall photo. After creating a texture... we ran a few different actions effects to get what he is looking for.

I am actually digging this. Everything was created from scratch and is starting to really take shape; like it's been left in the attic for 50 years or so.

After:

I did a test print comparison and wow, the texture makes the photo looked really scratched. Very cool!

Updating our website

Our website is currently being updated. There might be some slight issues on the homepage that we are currently working on. Why do you ask?

We are updating with new photos from the past few months. There was an issue with the numbering system and we are getting it taken care of. By today we will have tons of new photos on our website!

Thanks!

Seniors from this past week

For one our our commercial clients, we had to take a ride in a helicopter for some aerial photographs. Ken had a great time! This is just one of Gering...

As usual, wanted to show off photos from this past week. We had several seniors that have came back for other outfits; basically splitting their sitting into two different days. I think I caught everyone we have photographed and if I missed anyone please let me know.

Everyone wish Ken a happy birthday! This weekend he is off on a fishing trip and a little R&R. The studio will be closed tomorrow so if you need anything pressing this weekend email us and someone will get back to you.

Amazing weather last night

Beginning around 10 last night, a severe storm hit Scottsbluff and Banner Counties. For about an hour the storm pounded Gering. It finally let up. Nate had 3 inches of standing water in his garage!

The winds topped 65 mph and did some heavy damage. The City of Gering called out the Fire Department, Electrical Deptartment, Police Department, and Street Department last night. They were basically out all night and still working hard right now. The street department worked on removing all of the trees that fell into the streets, while the electric department worked on several downed power poles & lines. It was just crazy!!

Some photos I shot about an hour ago...

Luckily nobody was hurt and the City of Gering personnel is working hard clean up the damage. I feel for everyone that has damage on their property. Hopefully everything can be cleaned up and taken care of right away.

August 18 - Scottsbluff Nebraska

Ken spent the day at St. Agnes Catholic Church with another great couple. The party was exciting as there was a mariachi band blowing the crowd away! It was hot most of Saturday and there were some minor time constraints in the way the day would unfold. No biggie though, as Spectrum follows your schedule!

Onto some photos. Once again, clicking on a photo will enlarge it:

The light in the front of the church is fantastic since they renovated:

The groom: Spectacular!

Bride and Groom:

The mariachi players also performed during the ceremony:

This is probably the greatest moment during any wedding:

The ladies ready to party outside of the Gering Civic Center:

The entrance! They shot off fireworks...

...And the crowd goes nuts!!!

Congratulations, and thanks for allowing Spectrum to be a part of it!

Our new brochure

As I mentioned before, we have been working on a new design and printing technique for our wedding brochures. We have finally got some in stock and ready to roll.

If by chance you inquired have not received your brochure please contact me asap! These will be going out the door right away. Thanks for the patience :)

Seniors from this past week

Again, clicking on a photo will enlarge it. And again, thanks to all seniors this week for allowing Spectrum to capture your senior photos! We have 4 other seniors today that I will try and add to this post. If I dont they will be added to next weeks photos (typically we run Friday to Friday).

Ken is doing an awesome job with these photos, and Kat and Jeanne is making sure we get the porfolios out with a quickness. The lighting on these are just spectacular!

Ken has a fabulous wedding tomorrow. The studio will be open tomorrow from 9 until noon. For everyone else, have a great weekend! This is the last weekend of the summer for most as Gering Schools begin on Monday. So everyone be safe!

Last Saturdays wedding

Ken had a great time at Monument Shadows with the wedding party. We started out there, then headed to the church in Gering for the ceremony. We have photographed these two families over the years and everyone is awesome.

Here are some photos. As usual clicking will enlarge:

Express yourself

Edit for this post: We have given out all of the Expression CD's. Thanks for everyone interested. You can still get yours, just tell Jeanne you want one when you place your order.

---------------------------
Our new lineup in the senior department include our Expression CD! This CD includes your favorite photos that you can use anywhere on the web! Whether you use Myspace, Facebook, a blog of your own, digital resume, or any other type of digital media this will be perfect for you! We take your favorite photos (up to 10), put our special "looking good" touch on them, and size them for the web. You can then upload any of these images to the web. Another way we want you to express your personality through senior photos. These images are not for printing and will be delivered with your final order. This is an addition to your order and is rather inexpensive.

And right now, for all of the seniors we have photographed already, you can get yours FREE! The first 3 seniors that send an email to nate at spectrumphoto dot com with the subject "I want an Expression CD" will receive their's free! Make sure to put your name in the email so I know who you are.

This is the beginning of several new web-only specials we will run on the blog. We want this to be fun! Something only Spectrum offers!

Thank you Sandy

"I did want to take this opportunity to tell you that we were all very impressed with you as our photographer. You were so professional, was everywhere, yet unobtrusive. You definitely have a unique talent at putting everyone at ease, and you shot so many fun shots. I am glad the kids chose you, and we will certainly let anyone we know that is looking for a photographer."

Very humbling, thank you for your very kind words. Above is a photo we captured last Saturday (it wasn't from Sandy's wedding day). I think it goes very well with what Sandy says above; unobtrusive. There are so many things happening at weddings. There are times we need to step in and facilitate to make sure everyone feels at ease, while many more other times we need to step back and let the story unfold as is.

I think we're pretty good at doing that. The reason why I said I think is because it comes natural. Our approach towards wedding photography is no other way, and I really never thought about it until now.
