Seniors of the week!

Before I get into a few photos, lets talk about a few things...

First, who is from Lees Summit? I would love to get a shout out from the peeps there. Seems like we are sorta popular there :).

Secondly, congrats to the Bearcats for posting a win against the Bulldogs. We photograph so many seniors that played in the game last night. Boy was it a game! Everyone tried their best and Scottsbluff came out with the 3 point win. Gering owned the first half, while Scottsbluff made some adjustments and took over in the second.

Thirdly, its fall... YAY! If you want the fall colors in your photos, now is the time to book your session. I mean right now! The amazing oranges, reds, and natural colors will not stay for long.

On to some great photos. We had a few returning seniors that split their sessions (one this week and one earlier in the month). Plus we have two new seniors today. I will get them posted next friday.

Sports Galleries are down. - Updated

Somehow when loading the photos onto our online ordering system the files went haywire. I do not know what happened but I need to reset the gallery and upload the photos again. Again, the below links will not work.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has cause. For emails that we gathered I will email you when we have this fixed.

-----------

Updated: We are still having issues with this gallery. It apparently has something to do with the numbering. I will begin the tedious task of renumbering tomorrow morning. Then its off to Morrill for some sports! Hopefully we will have this fixed by then...

Seniors of the week!

More seniors this past week. We have also been pounding away the school photos and they should be ready soon. Kat is keeping up with the sports photos while Jeanne is making sure everybody gets what they ordered.

Just an FYI to everyone that owns an Epson printer. MAKE SURE YOU TURN IT OFF WHEN NOT IN USE! When the printer is shut off a vacuum goes over the print heads, causing everything to be cleaned and the heads to be taken care of. If you do not turn it off during the night or when not in use the heads do not get taken care of, and stay in a print type mode. This drastically reduced the life of the print heads. Epson does not tell people this, but call an Epson third party tech company and they will explain exactly what happens. We finally got our printer back in the studio after a trip to Denver to get it fixed.

Sorry for any delays in proof pages or anything else needed. We should be caught up this evening. Anyways, onto some photos...

Kat will be in the studio tomorrow morning and Ken has a seniors all day. We will be opened from 9 to noon. Everyone have a great weekend :)

September 15th

Ken photographed a wedding in Gering last Saturday. The weather was great. As usual it starts to cool down in September, with cloudy days and leaves falling. Saturday was pretty typical for this time of year.

The theme was geared towards autumn, with beautiful arrangements of fall leaves, from the ceremony to the reception. The couple had a large wedding party with most of the family participating. Such a wonderful thing.

Among the amazing photos Ken captured, I wanted to share these 3 black and whites:

Things are starting to slow down on the wedding front. Just in time to kick it into overdrive with schools and seniors :). We have a few more weddings this year that we cant wait for. One in particular is once again, returning customers. Once we finish the wedding season I will give a play by play on the 2007 season. Spectrum has had some AMAZING and awesome clients this past year and I want to showcase some moments :).

Seniors of the week!

Again, not very many seniors last week. We have been hammering out the schools. Right now the photos for some of the schools are back in the office and we are prepping them to go out.

On top of that, the studio was hit hard this weekend. Our Epson 4000 took a dump and is now out of service. Talk about great timing :(. A few months back Ken calculated how much paper we sent through that thing. It was around 4 miles, or something like that. Thats alot of paper!

My beloved Huskers... what can I say. I think that game was going great the first 8 minutes or so. Sam Keller looked stunning and was playing with his head. I think it started going downhill after the 20 minute timeout for the first SC player (when he got hurt. By the way, Im glad he is ok). It was such a downer to watch the Blackshirts not be the blackshirts. There was no intensity. Run after run they couldnt adapt or adjust.

Check back tomorrow for some great wedding photos. I might even have them uploaded today. Lets see how the day goes :).

September 11, 2007

If you see our own Kat today wish her a happy birthday. Today is Kat's 20'is birthday again, so either leave some love here or email her a BDay card at kat@spectrumphoto.com.

In 2002 Nate was fortunate enough to visit Washington DC during its memorial for firefighters lost 6 years ago. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation holds is annual memorial ceremony in Emmitsburg Maryland. But since there were so many lives lost and so many being a part of the service, it was moved to DC for that year.

We attended the Roll Call parade, that included all family members, fire companies, apparatus from New York, etc... The parade went for several blocks. Firefighters from around the USA were to line the parade route and fall in after the families. It was such an amazing experience. The parade was to end where the Washington Capitals play (I forgot the stadium name, so sorry). and the service began with Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge reading a letter from the President. Again, the entire trip was so amazing, sad, honorable.

These photos were taken during the parade and the Smithsonian. We will always remember September 11th, and we will never forget about the families and loved ones that lost their lives. We will also remember the troops that have given so much in the years after.

Whoa!

Saturday morning we had two children sittings. I went to download the card to our server and got an error.

"Could not copy to destination folder as there is not enough free space" I was blown away. So I check the status on the server. We had ZERO space available. All 233 gigs have been used. totally blown away that we had that much info and allow that much information stored on the server.

So this weekend and through this week we will be cleaning house. Don't worry, none of our photos are lost; just need to back them up to DVD's and external drives.

I also wanted to post these very cool images. Like I mentioned before, most of our clients are referrals or people we have photographed before. I have a bit of down time this week and will be updating our website with some photos. I came across two very recent photos that did not make it to our blog!

As you see, we also photograph children and families :)

9.2.07 Wedding - Updated

I finally have some photos ready. Last Sunday my best friend Matt married Reba. Two spectacular people had an amazing day and I am so blessed to be a part of their lives. I wanted to leave you with this photo for the day, and post the rest tomorrow morning. So check back to see some awesome photos Ken and I caught!

The word of the day was Love...

Ok, now here are some more photos! Reba made sure every detail was taken care of, and she had some amazing details.

Getting Ready. Ken was with the girls, and I took another camera around with the guys.

Matt and Reba.

The wedding party. There were so many cute little flower girls. The ring bearers used fishing poles instead of pillows to carry the rings down the isle.

While Ken was working with the women, Brandon and I took a quick break.

Walking down the isle.

Meet the father of the groom and the father of the bride:

And leaving for the night. They had paper airplanes that everyone threw. The kids got a little carried away :):

You guys are great! Have a great time in South Carolina. CONGRATULATIONS!

Speaking of which...

I just couldnt believe we had 1 senior this week. Im thinking to myself... why? I looked at our schedule and came to a conclusion.

3 Elementaries this week... 1,162 students photographed... and early, early mornings.

We were at Northfield this morning. One teacher complimented how well Ken interacts with the kids. Typical photographers move the heard threw the gates and snap as fast as possible. She mentioned how Ken takes the time to make sure stray hairs are taken care of, the smiles are genuine, and as painless as possible. I think shes right. Look at Ken in action.

BTW, taken on 3200 ISO...100 @ 5.6... AWB. Not bad.

Seniors of the week!

We began photographing Gering Schools this week. Since that has happened, we had only 1 senior. If I forgot about someone let me know and I will make it right.

We are going to do another giveaway starting next week. And hey, lets give a cheer for the Huskers tomorrow. Anyone want to make a guess at the spread?

Last Saturday's Family Sitting

Saturday turned out to be pretty great. Along with the Huskers taking the big "W", we had decent weather and a great family to photograph. Most of our business is referrals, and we have taken senior photos in the past for this family. Ken does a fantastic job as usual!

Look how relaxed everyone is. Big groups? No problem!

And... I need some help. I cannot figure out our mailing list system. I know I am missing something, but I cannot set up separate groups. Plus the jargon used in the mailing list control panel is greek to me. So, if you think you can help me out email me at nate at spectrumphoto.com. Its appreciated!

To celebrate the Husker's 52-10 win...

I am giving you this photo:

Left to right: Me, Brandon, Matt and Gary (the groom + his entourage).

I had a fantastic time at the YMCA Trails West Camp. Before the rehearsal dinner, everyone showed up and had a tailgating party during the game. I was nervous during the first 10 minutes, but after Keller got in the groove of things, everything was as I expected! Im just waiting for the Southern Cal game. Nevada and Wake Forest will get us ready for it, and I have total faith in our team!

More photos of the weekend coming throughout the week.

Seniors of the week

We had a very busy weekend. Along with Matt's wedding, Ken had several sittings on Saturday as well as photograph on Sunday, but we need to post up these great seniors. We will also post this weeks seniors on Friday.

We will be photographing Lincoln, Geil & Northfield schools this week. We ask that you have your childs enveloped filled out completely and includes payment. If you need to make arrangements please contact Jeanne and she can talk you through the process.

Lastly, we would like to extend our condolences to the families involved in Saturday's tragic accident. We are saddened by the loss of such a young person and extend our hand for any assistance that is needed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
