Engagement sitting last Saturday

Man, the longer it stays cold and windy the more Im wanting it to be warm. Weather has been "better stay inside" lately and I am getting sick of it!

Saturday we headed to a little place along the river. The wind was cold and blowing hard, but these guys were troopers. I photographed Todd and Nicole's wedding (you will remember their daughter from this post), a few years before we began blogging. It was awesome and I had the greatest time. Probably the most important thing though is I met some really great people and got to know them. Well, Nicole's maid of honor is getting married and I am honored to be photographing their wedding on June 6. Not to mention I will be photographing one of her bridesmaids wedding later in the year.

So back to the session. Like I said, cold and windy. But we just had to go outside:

They live a few miles from Sidney on a little ranch they just started.

I thought the location would be fitting. We headed down to the river to the only bridge of its kind in Nebraska:

Then cruised back up to a spot with tons of trees. As the future bride put it, she is very extraverted:

I think he doesn't mind though:

We found some great light so I snap one of her alone.

It's going to be a very fun wedding. I love clients that are so easy going. Not to mention it makes my job a bit easier when they are in love and can't keep their hands off each other.

Two beautiful little girls

Im a little bias though as they are my cousins kids. But Im sure you all will agree with me...

To be honest this was a little tough one. The little one didn't want to cooperate, which I do not blamer her. Who wants to sit on a hard wood bench naked and cold! Once she got her feed on she posed a bit better. We ditched the wood bench idea and headed to holding her. I think that was a good idea.

The older sister wanted in on some action, which is awesome! Boy is she a handful. It was more of a play session than a photo shoot because majority of the time I was ticking the heck outta her. I had such a good time.

More senior announcements!

We are blazing through senior announcements this year. If you haven't ordered yours yet give us a call. We can get you set up with something really cool in under 30 minutes! I have 4 appointments today with a plethora more at the end of the week.

We usually have them back within a week. But do not wait until the last minute!

Talk about a weekend

My family is wiped out... completely drained. Along with me having the craziest head cold yesterday, Carter and Crystal aren't feeling all that well either. Luckily this began yesterday because we had a super fantastic Saturday!

My son Adam wanted to play soccer at the YMCA, which has great programs for kids by the way. Anyways, it was his third game. We have been struggling to teach him the basics but he finally got it!
Coach wanted him to switch it up so he played the net. Talk about being bored.

He eventually got some action!

After the morning game and some chillin' time, we had CAKE!

Thats right, Saturday was Carters 4th birthday. Crystal made this fabulous cake. It is to resemble a toadstool from Mario Kart. She has some mad skills and we all agreed the cake looked fantastic. The carnage beginning:

The birthday boy. Notice the nice Koolaid smile:

We ended the party on a good note; Jade hung out and played with Carter and all of his new toys.

THEN, we added a new addition to the family:

I know, horrible lighting. This is all she gave me Sunday night. This little ball of fur is only 7 weeks and came from Arkansas (I always want to say Ar Kansas). Echo is her name and she is something. Stay tuned for a ton of photos.

Sleepless nights are upon me. I see new carpet in my future as well. Same goes for a few other things she might chew up. Its weird because I am so excited that none of that cares!

Senior Announcements

Wow, I cannot believe it is already March. Even though it felt like it was a very long winter, I cannot believe it is about gone! This year is flying by so fast and I cannot do anything to stop it. I've been told the older you get the faster life goes by. Maybe this is feeling my grandfather was telling me about.

So, its the beginning of March which means its time to begin on Senior Announcements. All Spectrum seniors need to give us a call to set up their appointments. It takes about 30 minutes to design your announcement. We want you to be a part of the design and show us what you had in mind!

Jeanne will be scheduling appointments through the next few weeks. I would suggest calling sooner than later to get the appointment you want. We have a pretty fast turn around time on these babies, but the longer you wait the longer it would take to get them back.

Shooting Seniors

The plan was to get out in some snow, but we had a very hard time scheduling that. The weather would forecast for snow and turn out totally different. Like this week will be beautiful - in the 60s and 70s - and next week its going to drop below 40. Horrible!

We still took advantage of the nice weather and hit the garage for some good shots. She brought a motorcycle along and Ken captured some good ones.

Man, I cannot believe it is March already. Wedding season is just around the corner :)
