June 19th, Silverton Colorado

*****CLICK PHOTOS....THEY WILL ENLARGE*****

I have been waiting to photograph this wedding for months! I was honored to drive 10 hours and spend the weekend in this amazing lodge. The bride is my cousin (I have a huge family, so this would be on my mothers side) and I was totally surprised, and so excited, when they asked me to photograph the wedding. And honestly, I was a bit nervous.... A part of me thinks... "Nathan, are you good enough to photograph at a place like this?". Sure, I love my job and being able to spend the day with amazing people. And we have some of THE MOST amazing clients. But it still makes you a little nervous. But Im a over that now ;).

So I packed up my family and we spent the weekend in this old mining lodge, Eureka Lodge in Silverton Colorado. This place had majestic views, total isolation, and so much history. You have to check out their website. It is owned and operated by two very humble people. I had such good time and their hospitality is second to none.

The drive was freaking crazy, really! We drove through Red Mountain Pass along the Million Dollar Highway. I cannot explain it, just google it and look at some of the photos. But once we got there, we came across this...

The lodge sits right next to the Animas Forks river. What a view!

Onto the wedding:

The lodge was truly original. I knew I had to incorporate the stairway somehow:

Lets get ready shall we? Oh and while were at it, lets have some fine wine:

I thought the shoes were a big hit:

The girls got ready across the river in this little meadow. They had to walk across this 50 foot high bridge for the ceremony. The bride and groom chose to see each other after the wedding. No problem. I think she was a little excited walking across the bridge for the ceremony:

The ceremony was on top of a cliff that looked over the river and lodge. Unbelievable view:

And they are married!:

Isn't she radiant?:

And how about her bridesmaids!:

And the guys looked just as sharp:

And they are clowns too. I had them hold my camera while I ran back and got another lens I forgot. What a wonderful capture Chris...

Think they are in love?:

We drove down to this little opening to have some fun:

Favorite.

The wedding party was so cool and laid back:

Back at the lodge for the reception, the father of both the groom and bride made some great toasts:

The first dance:

And check out where we dance the night away at:

The cake was actually baked at a lower elevation, then assembled at the lodge. I think they did an awesome job:

Taking a break from the reception. Another favorite:

A little under exposed, but I love this one too:

Silverton Colorado rocked! Nate, out.
And finally, congratulations Chris and Bekah. You have such a beautiful little daughter. And thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. We have an awesome family!

Silverton Colorado rocked! Nate, out.

May 21, 2010 - Scottsbluff Nebraska

*****Clicking on a photo will enlarge it******

I totally messed up some dates about a year ago. See, every third weekend of May I travel to Grand Island for the annual fire school and the past few years I have been teaching classes. This year it fell on the 4th weekend and I was not aware of it! Before I realized it I had booked a wedding, which was a totally awesome couple by the way, for that Friday. I was so torn. Luckily, Ken was able to jump in and photograph during the ceremony and reception so I could take off to Grand Island. We tag teamed this wedding and it actually turned out great!

You might remember this couple from their engagement sitting. And I figured it was going to be such an awesome day!

Some details while the girls were getting ready.

Now get this. As usual the bride and groom exchanged gifts before the ceremony. They are HUGE fans of Keith Urban and the bride snagged tickets to his show in Greeley this summer. Unfortunately I wasn't there to capture it, but the groom bought the bride.... wait for it.....(in my best Bob Barker voice) A NEW CAR! Freaking awesome!

Simply beautiful...

They make such a great couple.

The groom busted out his dance moves, but then got a little more serious.

Exit Nate. Enter Ken. We also brought another photographer Amanda to help capture some great stuff.

After the wedding everyone headed over to a hot spot and had a quick game of tackle football ensued...

During the reception.

The bride and groom headed out to a nice sunny spot for their honeymoon :). I excited to show off the book.

Oh Hi!

Its been a while, almost a month to be exact. We are in the middle of "End of the school" rush and I have been trying to get as much done as possible to help out the girls here in the studio. Also, we really haven't photographed much. And to be honest, I have been updating my Facebook a ton more than the blog. Maybe thats the way to go?
Things are changing though. We are getting into wedding and senior season. I am so excited! My first wedding of the year will be next week. Plus I will be traveling to Silverton Colorado to photograph a wedding! Finally... destination here I come.

If you haven't already stopped in and filled out our free family sitting give us a call or stop in and we will get you one. And I know I have said this before, but keep on the look out for some awesome things for 2011 seniors.

This Minatare senior wanted photos for announcements, which by the way is a great idea! He hunts geese quite a bit and I knew we were going to capture some really cool images.

We have updated the senior gallery section of our website with some spicy, super awesome images. Check it out here!

Im excited about the next few months and the path we are choosing for our 2011 seniors. Check back for details soon.

Senior Announcements

Here are just a few of the announcements we have been designing this year. We have expanded our ideas and embraced several new ways of designing them. Now we have the option of having them printed on fine art papers. Really cool stuff. Click on the images for an enlarged version.

I actually was caught off guard this year. Time went by so fast that I didn't think it was time to design announcements. Whether I liked it or not, we are designing announcement.
