Today's morning session

We photographed a beautiful little girl this morning. Such a little doll and she has the most bluest eyes! While we were photographing she showed almost every emotion possible.

After the waterfall she calmed down:

And finally she was drained:


Took us about 2 hours nut we got fantastic shots! I think I want make a huge gallery warp from the sleeping shot. What do you think?

Big calling going out

Now booking 2009/2010 weddings! We have received several calls this past few months and would really like to touch base with everyone about our wedding services.

We have several weddings on the books so far and the longer you wait the chances of a date being open declines. June, July and August are our busiest months. If you are getting married during one of those months give us a call ASAP! We would gladly mail you our brochure and talk one on one about your wedding. If you have received a brochure and are still waiting, why?

Im super excited about this year again. We will be tweaking our workflow to better our customer support. We will also be updating a few online things. Not to mention we have two super cool weddings booked in June & August. They will not be disappointed.

There is a few things I wanted to throw out here right away. Seems like a big chunk of people inquiring about dates ask the following:
1. Do you travel? Yes, we do travel. We are willing to go anywhere your wedding plans take you. Some of our packages include travel expenses, while others are a simple reimbursement for expenses.
2. What are your packages? Technically we do not have packages. Our formula is coverage based, then per page cost in your book. Lets say for example we photograph for 8 hours, 2/3 of your "package" will go towards your book or any other prints you want. We do not include all kinds of crap in a package that you do not want. Pretty simple.
3. Do you offer a CD with images? We do! We offer two types, archival with copyright release and DVD with a slideshow.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Im so excited about 2009 at Spectrum. I hope 2008 was great to everyone and the new year brings good things. I know it will here :).

I apologize for the "no posting" the past few weeks. We close the studio during Christmas and New Year to revamp and relax with the family. Its always nice to chill and unwind. It allows us to get our heads back together and imagine the new year. And this year will be awesome!

Christmas - 6 days away

Amazing, just yesterday it felt like spring. Another year has gone by so fast. This has been a great year at Spectrum. We kicked it up big time with our wedding line. Not to mention we brought in a new gallery wrap line plus several new card designs. Im super excited for next year!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been in and out of the office all last week. My family received some bad news. My mother's sister passed away earlier this week. I have always looked up to my aunt Pat and her family. When we were young, Mike (Ross at the time), Jason, Andrew, Robbie, and the rest of the cousins would hike and play in the Wildcat Hills. We would dig huge underground forts into the side of canyons. It got pretty rough as well; someone was shot in the eye while playing BB gun wars. Man the memories.

Patty was a shining star for her family. My mother's family is so close and connected through their faith. Anytime they would get together they would laugh and share stories about their lives. I feel so honored to be a part of my family. We have a lot of love. Patty would always have a smile on her face. The past 6 months she has battled cancer. Patty gave it her all and fought for herself and family. It was a good fight. I will never forget her beauty and that great loving smile. She gave my family so much love and I will miss her dearly. I am so empathetic to Mike and Jason. We love you guys!

We have some kids!

Sorry for the lagging blog lately. We have been out of the office the past week for Thanksgiving plus have tons of other things going on.

But today we have some kids to share!



Ken took off last week to Mexico. His brother and brother's family is spending over a week in the warm sun while we are here in 23 degree weather. Very nice! How was everyone's Thanksgiving?



Should be a great week! We are working on our families and getting all of our weddings put together. Stay warm out there :)

This senior had an idea with his wresting singlet. We snapped him in two different poses, then photoshopped them together. Lets hope we met his expectations!


Everyone have a great and happy Thanksgiving. We will be out of the office until December 2. We are going to be spending major time with the families. I hope you all do the same.

And I think thats it for 2008. Phew, what a great senior season. Booked over 30 seniors from Gering. I think it has to do with the way we treat our hometown families. I might be wrong...

It is wonderfully warm today. Same for yesterday. Horrible for hunting, but great to hang out and drink a cup of joe. The sunset was beautiful last night. Gave us a piece of serenity for a while. Feels good to end a work day with a sunset like that.

It's Friday

And the wind is blowing like crazy. Pretty typical for Nebraska, but the weather has sucked the last few days and believe it or not, it makes you want to curl up to a nice cup of joe and literally do nothing!

It's also forcing us to stay inside for most of our photos. We had a couple seniors on the books this past week and we didn't go outside. Bummer huh...


Still, Ken does an awesome job no matter where he is.

Today is the last day to submit your yearbook photo. If you are a last minute procrastinator, call jeanne before 5 today with your photo number. We are also gearing up for our family session season.
