Engagement - March 13

It has been great outside! Today it is 65 outside and everything is drying fast. I took advantage of the weather Saturday and photographed this lovely couple outside. Even though there is really no color (since its technically winter), we still were able to capture some great images. The future groom farms while the future bride is working in the design field. They had very good choice in attire.

One of my favorites.

We walked around the hills and chilled in a few new locations.

Another favorite.

They are planning a July 3 wedding in Ogallala so check back for some more of their images then :).

Engagement - March 6 2010

I was hoping to get some nice weather last Saturday, but we ended up with cold and snow.

And really, thats okay because we captured some awesome images. It wasn't extremely cold and I was thinking we should make some killer snow angels, but there wasn't enough snow to do that. Plus, I was afraid we would happen to sit down in some "leftovers" if you know what I mean.

And WOW!

Help us celebrate our 30th year in business. Give us a call or email us to find out how you can pick up one of these flyers.

To our wedding clients

We have loaded every wedding from 2009 to our website for our clients so you can finalize any order you need to. We are trying to finish up with our 2009 weddings to make room for our 2010 clients. Visit our proofing section and enter your password to access your photos. Remember, the password is the groom and brides first name with "and" in the middle (ex: johnandjessica).

For all of you 2010 brides, our local paper is running a wedding special within the coming weeks. If you haven't subscribed you can visit their website and contact them to do so.

I cannot believe it is March already. I woke up this morning, looked out the window, and noticed several birds in the back yard. Is that sign of warmer weather around the corner?

This is a mobile test. Word!

Senior - February

This senior from Gering wanted a few indoor photos to show of her love for sports.

Even though I am ready for spring, I have been loving watching the Olympics. I tried so hard this year to catch some curling but failed again. I heard the competition was fierce.

We are celebrating our 30th year

This year is truly an exciting year for us here at Spectrum. Myself, Ken, Jeanne and Kat would like to say thanks! Thank you to all of our wonderful clients/customers for allowing us to do what we love for 30 years. We have some really cool ideas coming up this year and we are releasing some new school and wedding products. PLUS, we will be celebrating our 30th year by giving back to our customers.

And I apologize for not keeping this blog updated with great images. I will get on that right away :).

She happen to come in all smiles. We had two outfits. This second one grandma requested. The baby blanket has been in the family for generations and she was actually photographed on it. Pretty cool to hear stories like that.

Engagement - January 16, 2010

I cannot believe I haven't shared this sitting yet. We were somewhat lucky as we had decent weather to shoot outdoors. This couple is originally from Sidney but now live in Rawlings Wyoming. They were able to visit on a weekend and get these photos hammered out.

We went to a few different locations and I only have a few to share. We had such a great time along the river and they worked with each other really well.

For some reason this one speaks to me. The future bride had some heels on and was a super champ walking through this stuff.

We have been getting a ton of calls requesting information about weddings. If you are getting married, or know someone that is this is a perfect time to give us a call or visit our website! We would gladly send out a brochure.

2nd post in January!

Man, we are such slackers! Well, not really. I have been really busy here at the studio and related at home projects. I swear I haven't totally neglected the blog, just in a slow slump right now!

We have a few things to share which I will be working on in the coming days. This photo was from a Christmas Family session we did shortly after Christmas.

December 26th, 2009.

Happy New Year everyone! I really hope everyone had a fun and exciting way to bring in 2010. All of us at Spectrum did different things, but we shared it with family and friends which is so special! And I apologize for not being around this blog the past few weeks. We busted our butts and got everything done in time for Christmas and I took several days off during the week. So this blog really looked empty.

2010 marks our 30th year in business! We will start the year off right so stay tuned ;). But for now I wanted to share a wedding I was invited to capture the day after Christmas, 2009. It was very cold. Let me repeat.... VERY COLD, which forced us to limit shooting indoors. No problem...

The bride got ready downstairs with her sister (which was also her maid of honor) and her mother and of course me. Afterwards we gave the bride and groom a few minutes at the altar.

I had to move in for a few photos though...

The bride had several different ideas for photos, and we used the church the best we could. I found some great light. Which image do you like? Smile or no smile?

I prefer this one..

And the best man had the groom laughing for me, which makes for a real moment.

Moving to the ceremony, I think the father of the bride was a bit nervous and I love this moment of comfort... probably for both of them.

And we are married.

The reception was at the Scottsbluff Country Club and was beautifully decorated. Actually, thats an understatement. The reception, as well as the church, made me feel invited, joy, comfort, and the room filled with love. Serious, nothing beats hanging out next to a warm fireplace with good music, good food, and amazing people.

It was an amazing day and I was again thankful for being able to be a part of it. So thankful.
