Jaxon is here!

Im so excited for my buddy Brandon and his wife Amber. Saturday they became proud parents of a little boy. They are our dearest friends and you might remember their daughter from this post. Times like this makes me love my job even more because I get to photograph this little guy from the start.

See, the more I photograph people the more I want to get to know them and their story. As photographers we capture a moment in time. We are able to tell the rest of the world, and the people that come after us, that we were here. A photograph is proof that, in this case, Jaxon was born. Think of it as evidence that we lived and generations that follow us can investigate our story. And I get to be a part of that. Thats pretty cool!

So, meet Jaxon. 6 pounds 3 ounces. Congrats Brandon, Amber and Jade. Be proud!

Another family sitting

This threesome came to see us this week. Ken photographed them in the studio. He wanted to focus on the little girl and got some great shots.

I do not know how we lived without Kubota's action.

Have a great weekend everyone. Ken is making a trip to a seminar in Denver. The girls will be spending time with the family and I will either head to Colorado or go to Bayard and get the 411 on some dog training.

Messing around with video settings

Testing the embedding. More to come...

Okay, it worked but the music so does not go with the photos lol. Hey give me a break, its the first one we created. A bit long but its a full sitting DVD. We have been offering DVD's for our Seniors but we have been searching for a way to upgrade the styles. I think Ken found a good company that offers cool shows. What do you think?

How could I have forgot...

... to post this session. Ken photographed a senior a few weeks ago. She wanted some fun in the snow!

They went out to the monument to snap a few more.

Deadline fast approaching

We are finally cleaning up our storage and wedding rack. I cannot believe we kept 2002 weddings open. We truly apologize about not updating everything.

So part of our apology included a 10% discount to all of our clients that placed their order before February 15th. And the response has been huge! We appreciate everyone that has contacted up and are taking advantage of this offer. So, if you haven't yet contacted us do so. We are talking about some good savings here! Not to mention having one amazing wedding books.

The 2009 wedding season is looking better and better. Im excited to be traveling to Sidney a few times this year as well as Alliance, Wyoming and of course a few local weddings. Im so pumped for our clients this year.

Sorry about no photos or posts the past week or so. This time of year we are super slow and trying to catch up on several things. We haven't had many sittings; just working on commercial things. We will be going full speed again real soon.

Meet Stone...

A huge ball of loving fur.

My best friend Matt and his wife Reba got a new dog, their first "child". Matt also purchased a new truck so he brought both to the studio to show off. So mean...

The name Stone goes way back and such a long and stupid story that it wouldn't fit in this post, literally. Personally, Stone looks does look like a bear. Whatever the name Im sure you would agree with me that this dog should be on a Hallmark "I miss you" card.

Today's morning session

We photographed a beautiful little girl this morning. Such a little doll and she has the most bluest eyes! While we were photographing she showed almost every emotion possible.
We started with this:

Then went to this:

Then came the tears:

After the waterfall she calmed down:

And finally she was drained:

Took us about 2 hours nut we got fantastic shots! I think I want make a huge gallery warp from the sleeping shot. What do you think?

Big calling going out

Now booking 2009/2010 weddings! We have received several calls this past few months and would really like to touch base with everyone about our wedding services.

We have several weddings on the books so far and the longer you wait the chances of a date being open declines. June, July and August are our busiest months. If you are getting married during one of those months give us a call ASAP! We would gladly mail you our brochure and talk one on one about your wedding. If you have received a brochure and are still waiting, why?

Im super excited about this year again. We will be tweaking our workflow to better our customer support. We will also be updating a few online things. Not to mention we have two super cool weddings booked in June & August. They will not be disappointed.

There is a few things I wanted to throw out here right away. Seems like a big chunk of people inquiring about dates ask the following:
1. Do you travel? Yes, we do travel. We are willing to go anywhere your wedding plans take you. Some of our packages include travel expenses, while others are a simple reimbursement for expenses.
2. What are your packages? Technically we do not have packages. Our formula is coverage based, then per page cost in your book. Lets say for example we photograph for 8 hours, 2/3 of your "package" will go towards your book or any other prints you want. We do not include all kinds of crap in a package that you do not want. Pretty simple.
3. Do you offer a CD with images? We do! We offer two types, archival with copyright release and DVD with a slideshow.

Like I said, if you are getting married within a year from now, call 308.436.4422 or 888.317.3363 and talk with us about our wedding services. You will be glad you did.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Im so excited about 2009 at Spectrum. I hope 2008 was great to everyone and the new year brings good things. I know it will here :).

I apologize for the "no posting" the past few weeks. We close the studio during Christmas and New Year to revamp and relax with the family. Its always nice to chill and unwind. It allows us to get our heads back together and imagine the new year. And this year will be awesome!

See you all soon. If you are getting married and plan on visiting the 2008 KMOR Bridal show at the Hampton next Tuesday, hit us up and check out our wedding photography
