July 7th, 2007

July 7th was our most asked for wedding date. We had to turn away so many couples because we were already booked.

Ken photographed two families, while Nate went to the Midwest Theatre for an amazing wedding.

The Midwest Theatre is a great place for a people that are looking for something different. I would definately recommend this place to anyone. Check it out.

Here are some great shots from the wedding. Click the photo for an enlargement.

Details. The groom and his best man wore tradition Scottish garments. Pretty sweet:

Bride and Groom. He just had to the the Napoleon pose!:

Finally, I love the brides father in this photo. He sang to her the entire time they danced. It was such a great dance!

We should have the rest of the photos ready by Wednesday. Check back for the possible virtual album!

Back to School Display

The Monument Mall is hosting several Back to School events throughout the summer. They have asked local photographers to supply displays for the entire summer. We were honored.

There will be several of our 2007 seniors spotlighted during this event! Be sure to check out the display There will be several new items Spectrum will be releasing this year as well as great ideas for seniors this year. Plus this gives everyone a chance to look at the new trends in fashion. I believe they will also be handing out several prizes during certain events!

Two Volume Album

WOW! LC (our album company) does an amazing job. I am blown away at each album that comes back.

So I come back from a quick lunch and find the two volume set sitting at the table. It wasn't suppose to be back for another two weeks or so. Talk about fast!

Here are some quick shots I took of this masterpiece:

Our clients are totally pumped! All of our wedding packages include an album similar to this. These are top notch books and custom designed for each client. So every book is a one of a kind!

Studio note: The studio will be closed for the 4th of July. Ken, Jeanne, Kat and Nate will be spending some much needed relaxation time with their families! We will return on the 5th. Everyone have a safe and great 4th of July.

June 30, 3007

Nate was able to spend the day with two amazing people. The ceremony was held at the Zion Evangelical in Scottsbluff, with a party to follow at the Civic Center.

Before we went to the Civic Center, we headed to a local park for some great action. Most of the day was hot and muggy, so we stayed inside. **NOTE** Clicking on a photo will enlarge it:

Take a look at some details. The ring was unique and very stunning.

The first time the couple seen each other:

The great couple and their entourage:

Look at the love on the groom's face during the vow:

At the park after the ceremony. Yes, there was some touching!

The reception. That is one proud father. And the guys had to serenade the lovely bride during the garter toss. They were getting into it big time.

Lastly, leaving the park. I like the sun flare on this one.

The couple is off to a secret honeymoon. The groom was keeping it "Mission Impossible". The only info I got on it was it was going to be very warm and comfortable :). Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the wedding! I am very greatful to spend the day with you. Have a great time on the honeymoon!

First Senior Session of the year

I just got the OK to offer some amazing new products, only from Spectrum!

I am not sure how this will price out, or the actual specific size (still dealing with that), but we will be offering these very awesome books! Spectrum is always on top of the game. We have been looking for places to publish actual books with the best quality, as we are about the best quality. We stumbled across a company that offers something that we like. With our creativity these books will be the hottest thing around!

Similar to fashion or magazines, these new books will have all of the custom effects, great photographs, and fantastic design.

We will be incorporating it into our line of wedding books, but the huge test run is on our seniors. You get an amazing book with that great Spectrum flare.

These are a couple of our simple designs for our Seniors (posing is actually our first senior session of the year). The Senior books are going to be soft covers. At least that is the first plan. The weddings will include more extensive designs and will be a hard cover. Not to mention these will be our first rectangular book.

Its a totally smooth addition to our already great finished products. I will snap some photos of the finished book once its completed and in our hands!

Everyone have a great weekend. Nate is off to a fabulous wedding in Scottsbluff tomorrow. Check back Sunday for some great photos.

June 23, 2007 Wedding - Chadron Nebraska

It reached the triple digit temparature Saturday. This is the number one reason we stayed inside!

Saturday's wedding was FANTASTIC. As usual, the bride and groom was looking amazing. She wore a very elegant dress. Simple, yet stunning. The entire wedding party was great to work with. There was some amazing light in the entrance to the church. The hardest part was defining the background. But using the awesome 85mm 2.8 Nikon lens took care of that.

Chadron is such a beautiful place. I took a few minute Saturday morning and visited the State Park. Its so much different than the Wild Cat hills. Not to mention part of the Pine Ridge is recovering from some devasting fires last year.

**Note**: Click on the photos will enlarge them.

Starting off with the details:
The dress was so awesome.

The rings. The bride kept them a secret, meaning the first time the groom seen them was when they exchanged vows:

A litle tighting up the shoes:

The bride & groom & wedding party:

The reception was held at the Art Center. It is an old catholic church that was converted into a center. The place is off the hook! It was decorated beautifully, had hard wood floors, and the lighting was great.

Reception photos:

I captured this photo while on my way home. The sunsets these past few days have been spectacular!

Wheatland & Chadron

We're still working on a method for previewing images on the blog. We have a few options, but we will be testing things out on Sunday with images from tomorrows wedding. Speaking of that, the wedding will be held in Chadron Nebraska. We love going up to Chadron and spending some time in the State Park. Its such a beautiful place and tomorrow will be no different!

Last year was a horrible fire season for Western Nebraska. Along with our area, Valentine, Harrison and Chadron had some heavy loss to due wildfire. Hundreds of thousands of acres burned last year, and you can still see the black area. One wildfire actually went straight to the college (it burnt to the "C Hill").

We did not take these photos. I pulled these from my collection of the July 2006 fires.

The first one is from Harrison, while the rest is from Chadron. Im trying to locate the aerial photo of C Hill. It was pretty amazing!

This weekend Ken had a break from weddings and is heading to Wyoming for a great fishing trip. The best place to flyfish! This means our studio will be closed on Saturday. If there is an emergency during the weekend you can contact us via email and someone will get back to you.

Have a great weekend everyone!
